I'm 66 years old, and I love Nate! Lincoln Peirce keeps me in touch with myself as a young boy, but the lessons to be learned from his work are timeless. I've purchased every book in the series, and I hope to pass them along to my grandson when his reading abilities are sufficient.

Best crackers ever!

What can I say? I really love this book. I have made 4 recipes and they all turned out fabulously delicious. The first thing that caught my eye browsing was the crackers sections so the first thing I tried out was the butter crackers. My search for the best homemade crackers is over, these crackers were crispy buttery goodness; my daughter prefers these to store bought wheat thins. It's great with savory spreads, nutella or peanut butter. The gluten free cinnamon rolls are soooo good! My husband has requested the rolls twice already and I've only had the book for a week.
I especially love that most of the recipes have a gluten free variation. I have a gluten free kitchen and these recipes are just perfect.

So much fun

These are just great recipes for fun items that I never would have thought I could make.
The best part is that each recipe contains choices of ingredients so you can decide how healthy or decadent you want to make them.

I'm going to be using a lot of these recipes for upcoming holiday parties

Wonderful and fun

I bought this book so I could make crackers to pack in my kids lunches for school. Even though there are 100% natural & organic crackers available at the store, the ingredient lists are very long, and with a lot of things I do not recognize. I started off by making the recipe for goldfish crackers--although mine did not turn out like the picture (nor did I get the quantity of fish the recipe said I would), my kids went crazy for them.
This cookbook is very easy to follow, and there are nice pictures of almost every recipe. She puts an ingredient glossary in the beginning, which I found to be very informative and helpful. Recipes are simple, and directions are clearly written. A+
Although (as the author clearly states) these recipes are NOT low fat or healthy, they are wonderful for special occasions (the homemade twinkies are awesome & easy).
I highly recommend this book.

When Dutch Brain Surgeon Dr. Rijk van Taak ter Wijsma proposed to Sophie Blount there was no romance, no roses, and no declaration of love. However there was a kiss - - - on the cheek. This was to be a marriage of convenience. That was fine with Sophie; she decided long ago that romance was not for her. Once bitten, twice shy - she had been burned by love once and was content to enter into a comfortable, companionable marriage. I loved this hero!

I recently wrote a review of A Girl in a Million by Betty Neels and I did not particularly like it because I just didn't like the hero, Marius. I said in that review that I would read at least one more book by this author because she has written over 130 books and I hoped I would end up liking her so I would have this new source of books to read.

I'm so glad that I decided to try another of her books. I just finished The Awakened Heart and I loved it! The wealthy and famous heart surgeon from Holland falls in love at first sight with Sophie, who is a nurse at one of the hospitals in London in which he has patients. Because he doesn't think she will believe he fell in love with her at first sight, he keeps his feelings for her hidden and asks her to marry him just because they are "friends" and will be good companions to each other. She agrees to this type of marriage because she doesn't know he is in love with her and she does know that she is not in love with him and thinks she never will be in love with him or anyone else. Several years ago she had a relationship that ended very badly and she isn't eager to have her heart broken again. So this marriage for companionship sounds like a pretty good deal to her.

As much as I disliked Marius in A Girl in a Million, I LOVED Rijk. Are you ready for this? His full name is Rijk van Taak ter Wijsma. I have no idea how to pronounce any of that so I just called him Van in my mind because that was the only one of his names I could pronounce. Name notwithstanding, I adored him and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I pretty much didn't put it down until I finished it.

Earlier I said he fell in love with her at first sight. I loved how that first meeting took place! I can see this as the opening scene of a movie! I highly recommend Neels' books and if, like me, you first read one you DON'T like, I would encourage you to try another to see if you like the second one. I am now looking for additional books by this author and I highly recommend.
