Unless you have spent every moment of every day for ten years studying immunology, keep a computer nearby while going over this book because you will not remember every molecule and cellular pathway mentioned throughout this highly detailed and comprehensive textbook. However, that being the case, nobody designed life to be simple for people to comprehend fully. This book has so much detailed information in it it is a must have for any physiologist or pathologist. It is more advanced than would be necessary for a medical practitioner, but for a medical researcher, one must get this book if they ever work on pathogenic or autoimmune disorders.

This is, undoubtdly, the most complete guide for immunology. It shows all aspects of the issue, including biochemistry and disease context. Futhermore, the interaction between innate response and adaptive response is aborded, once is rarely showed by the other books. I do recommend!

Wonderful and enjoyable book of the possible!

My supervisor/lead recommended this book to me since I was reading a Chicken Soup for the Soul book. I ordered it from Amazon. After I received it, I moved it to the front of my reading list. I am happy that I did.
This story at the beginning of the book reminds me of the story, “The Tale of Tabby” from Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Possible. The young and main characters each need a special dog to help them in different ways. The respective dog bonds with young person and helps him in the future.
This is an inspirational story. If you want to feel good, I recommend Max as a good, enjoyable and uplifting read.

Consider the age of your child before reading this

Great book, however I think the age recommendations may be a little skewed. I wish I had read this WITH my ten-year-old for the first time. There was a topic of pirating video games and stolen military weapons that probably should have been addressed before he read it independently!

It is so admirable that dogs can work as diligently as humans to protect and serve their country. Dog are amazing creatures with exceptional abilities and the loyalty they have for their masters are unparalleled. This book was wonderful, sad and uplifting all at once. A must read!!

A very important book for everyone who designs, visits and loves public parks!

I lived in New York for 40 years and, as an artist and photographer, spent many hours in Central Park. I have visited many of the great parks in Europe and Latin America, but none - none! are as well conceived, designed, people-oriented and beautiful as New York's Central Park. Olmsted's philosophy, human concerns, democratic ideals in designing parks, and his place in history (as the Industrial Revolution took hold, and working-class people moved into crowded cities), are all expressed in this book. I highly recommend the book to everyone who lives in a city or town anywhere; to people who play outdoor games, exercise, have children, love birds and squirrels and growing things! And the millions of people who love and have loved Central Park and Olmsted's other parklands across America.

Repetitive and pedantic rantings of an egotist

Repetitive and pedantic rantings of an egotist. I cannot believe Montreal waited 3 years for his response to their interest in a park at Mont Royal.

The photographs have been reproduced very poorly in this paperback edition. They are either blurry or too dark to see anything.

Excellent Book

At 45 years old, I am not a young man, but I am just now finding my Way on the path. But I have very quickly realized that Tim Hogan's books (all of them) are "must have" tools for the kit of every craftsman and searcher. This book shines the light on who we were, who we are, and who we should be. It sits on the shelf of my home library along with Brother Hogan's other books, calling for me to read them again and again, so that I can share them with the world. Ben.

I nearly died when I was 19. That near death experience revealed to me a thread that could be traced among all of the worlds inner traditions. I have been heavily seeking every clue I can find about The Primordial Tradition since then. It is our duty, our responsibility to not let the knowledge of who we are, where we came from, and where we are going die. Brother Hogan is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to unearthing even the subtlest details of this tradition long forgotten by the world of the profane.

Not only does this book do a great job at putting the pieces together, but the discussion on the brotherly union and cooperation of the various schools is truly inspiring! A tried and true system that works

I immediately knew I was on the same page as Tom Marquardt when I got to Part I - Stop Biting Your Nails and Start Sharpening Your Claws. This part begins with an exercise that says " I would like you to take 10 minutes, and ten minutes only, and write down the top five items that you worry about and/or are fearful about on a continuous basis in the space provided below." He then proceeds to tell the reader the fears and worries will always be there but he will teach how to neutralize them using his 14 points. Those 14 points consist of the lot of stops, and as I read through them all it reminded me of self-discipline, something easy to stray away from when in fear and doubt.

One analogy I've never heard of before but made so much sense was when Marquardt said "A glass of milk has a longer shelf life than a vacant hotel room." Milk can be kept in the fridge for several weeks and used as needed. However, when today is gone, today's vacant room cannot receive the opportunity of the moment. This of course, can be translated to any service you sell. It's all about maximizing revenue generation - today.

Marquardt also advocates "Go be a leader with walk-around, hands-on management. Forget sending a memo to the associates on how to do it; show them yourself." This is one aspect of running a business I'm adamant about. Creating relationships with your team is crucial and in my opinion, mandatory.

What Marquardt says in "My Little Black Book to Success" is nothing new. However, it's a gentle reminder we all need and being the size the book is, a couple of hours of reading, contemplation and grounding will give us the inspiration to get out of a slump, re-focus on our direction, or make the necessary changes. In our busy lives, combined with the internal fears the media brings to us about the downturn of economy, it's easy to start doubting our direction in business if there is a lull. Marquardt gives us action plans and strategies that work, if you work them.
