The book is well structured and organized. Each chapter, which basically follow the steps of an LCA, has an abstract, a TOC and a short description of its aims. It's well suited for an intermediate student of LCA. For the complete novice, some early discussions might move a bit fast. The two main reasons why I've only rated it a 3-star book are:
- For a student handbook the exercises at the end of each chapter could be better developed, i.e., there could be more of them and of increasing level of difficulty. Including answers would strengthen it even further. For more complicated calculations, the answers could link to a dedicated website, which many scholarly books have these days.
- The book is not cheap. It's therefore disappointing to see so many typographical errors in the book. To give an example, on page 28, the first paragraph of section 2.2.3 is 5 lines short but has no less than 4 errors. For an expert-written book of this price, I expect better.
