Very helpful and inexpensive

I really like this system. As an FPU enrollee, it is efficient and useful. There is a leather one that is more than twice this price. The refills for this system are inexpensive as well. You can keep a running balance right on the envelope that is tri-fold.

A serious system.

We have had this system for years now and love it! First off we started using this system and stopped, started and stopped and now starting again.. I really thought that we would be able to just start a system like this, budget, and stick to it. However Dave Ramsey is right when he says it will take 3 months are so to really get this system in place. This system does work, you have to really not allow your self to keep getting sucked in to the worlds way of spend spend spend. No matter if we fall again, we will pick back up and start again. We pay our selves first and those funds can not be touched we have that down. We just need to manage the take home and not let the take home manage us. We cut cable and many other things that we can live with out.
With that said we have not giving up hope and still have our FPU package that we refer to. We have not created any new dept but need to stick to a budget so we are getting our selves on this system again with more discipline and will make sure we stick to this as this is a great system.
This is not a new system as this has been around for years. We used to use just plan envelopes and I would put my coupons in as well. I like this system because it has the baby steps on the inside cover to help remind you of your goals and steps. On the back cover it has steps to financial peace along with biblical scripture.. This really is outstanding to keep you disciplined and focused.
This system has a clear zip lock pouch for coins, four loose envelopes and six attached envelopes, four sheets to track your spending, a list of educational materials from Financial Peace University, Financial Peace Order form, direction for the FPU envelope system, and an example of a category. This also has a side pocket to keep the loose envelopes in.
We will also be passing this system on to our children so that they to can manage their money even at a young age. This will help them set up categories for things they have going on in there lives, savings, giving, etc. We are on a mission to gain financial independence so we will purchase the deluxe system and be ready to say we are debt free. This system as I said before will be passed to our children so that they can manage and be debt free starting off.

A Must Have Budget Resource

Dave Ramsey talks a lot about sticking to grandma's wisdom and that's what the envelope system is. It is simple and something you can do on your own, but I find that having something more structured that includes cash flow tracking is much more useful.
